Servicemembers with 6+ years service can transfer up to 36 months of Post-9/11 GI Bill benefits to spouse/kids.

Overview

Servicemembers who have completed 6 years of service and commit to 4 more can transfer any portion of their 36 months of Post-9/11 GI Bill benefits (up to full in-state tuition + $2K/mo BAH + $1,000 books) to spouse or dependent children. Kids can use starting after own high-school graduation and up to age 26. Transfer request MUST be made while on active duty. Effectively worth $50K–$150K+ per child depending on school.
