QCD (Qualified Charitable Distribution)

Age 70½+: give directly from IRA — never taxed as income.

Overview

IRA holders 70½+ can transfer up to $105K/year (2024, indexed) directly from IRA to charity — the distribution is EXCLUDED from AGI entirely. Counts toward RMDs. Better than a standard charitable deduction (which is capped, requires itemizing, and doesn't reduce AGI-driven Medicare IRMAA).
